Britons aim for European Track glory

Triple Olympic gold-medallist Jason Kenny is one of seven British Olympic champions competing on day one of the European Track Championships on Friday.

Kenny and fellow 2012 gold winner Philip Hindes are among four riders hoping to compete in the three-man team sprint in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.

And Olympic champions

Laura Trott, Dani King and Joanna Rowsell

are in the squad for the women’s 4km pursuit.

Ed Clancy and Steven Burke are two of the six vying for the men’s pursuit.

Elsewhere, Jess Varnish looks set to team up with Becky James for the women’s team sprint.

The men’s and women’s points races complete a total of six gold medals to be handed out on day one.
