Cyclist King breaks five ribs in crash

Olympic cycling champion Dani King has suffered five broken ribs and a collapsed lung after being injured in a crash in training.

The 23-year-old – who

won gold in the team pursuit

at London 2012 –

confirmed on Twitter 

she is receiving treatment in hospital in Wales.

King, from Hampshire, recently decided to

switch from track to road cycling

to ride full time for team Wiggle Honda.

She was

runner-up to Laura Trott

at the British Championships in June.
