Trott wins national road race title

Laura Trott has won the British Cycling National Championships road race ahead of Dani King and Lizzie Armitstead in Abergavenny.

Defending champion Armitstead

was in front by 15 seconds at one point and led with 5km to go.

But she was caught by Trott and her Wiggle Honda team-mate King on the final lap of the race.

Trott, 22, took the title in a sprint finish also retaining her Under-23 crown.
